Description

upright rectangular, the front later applied with an enamel plaque painted with two figures by an altar of love, the later miniature on the reverse representing a winged putto holding a shield with initials CF below a flower crown, within rose-cut diamond-set frames, on translucent dark blue enamel ground over banded engine-turning, chased gold borders, the lid applied with diamond-set lettering reading ‘gage de' to front and 'resp. filial' to reverse as a token of filial respect, the interior fitted with a gold pencil holder,
