Kipling, Rudyard
The Complete Works in Prose and Verse. London: Macmillan and Company, 1937-1939
35 vols., 8vo (243 x 160 mm). Uncut. Printed on handmade paper, a few volumes with in-text illustrations, printed maps, some folding, and photographs tipped in; occasional toning at margins, one or two minor spots and stains, but overall bright. Original full crimson niger morocco, double gilt-ruled, spine gilt-lettered with raised bands in six compartments, top edge stained red and gilt, marbled endpapers; extremities rubbed, a few scuffs, some hinges starting and text blocks lightly shaken, spines variously sunned and rubbed with slight loss.
The Sussex edition—number 189 of 525 copies, signed by the author on the limitation page of volume 1.
The definitive edition of Kipling's works, compiled leading up to the author's death in 1936, and including much prose and verse which had not previously been collected.
