with an oak structure, opening with three walnut drawers, decorated with scrolling foliage and arabesques ebony framed, gilt-bronze ornamentation like spandrels, running border, female-head espagnolettes, framing elements, cartouches, clasps, satyr masks, and claw feet, the rectangular top inset with a gilt leather writing surface, with a stencilled mark E 250 in black ink on one drawer, and 250 twice in white ink on the underside, with a partially torn label inscribed Depositeries, / …URNEMOUTH WEST…. ; (originally with a gilt-bronze rosette beneath the satyr masks)
