This painting can be tentatively attributed to Horatius Paulijn on the basis of the similarity of the bust and the handling of the feathers in his signed still life, formerly in the SØR Rusche collection and sold in these rooms on 4 July 2019, lot 112, for £30,000. We are grateful to Dr Fred Meijer for proposing/endorsing the attribution to Paulijn.
