Giulio Cesare Bedeschini seems to have spent most of his career in Central Italy and especially in the city of Aquila. We owe to Catherine Monbeig Goguel the knowledge of his graphic style. He is traditionally considered a pupil of Lodovico Cardi, called Cigoli (1559-1613), but is not mentioned by the biographer Filippo Baldinucci (1625-1696) in his 'Lives'.
The use of abundant wash with strong contrasts, and a certain geometric style in the description of the figures, make this drawing a very plausible addition to the corpus of Bedeschini's drawings.1
