each piece painted with a rose and forget-me-not 'GF' monogram enclosed by a blue floral garland and with scattered rose and forget-me-not sprays within a blue line and gilt dash border to the rim, comprising:

a pair of oval sauce tureens, covers and fixed stands,

a pair of double-lipped two-handled sauceboats,

a pair of circular butter tubs, covers and fixed stands,

a mustard pot, cover and fixed stand,

a pair of navette-shaped dishes,

four shell-shaped dishes,

twenty-eight plates,

nine soup plates,

interlaced L's enclosing date letters mm in blue to most pieces, a few with crown marks for hard paste porcelain or interlaced L's in gilding, various painters' marks and incised letters and numerals

This service was bought by M le Chev[alier] Forget on 21 September 1789, the initials being ‘GF’ and the ‘G’ denoting Forget. Some of its components appear in the Kiln records; for the firing dates see David Peters, Sèvres Plates and Services of the 18th century, Little Berkhamsted, 2015, vol. VII where pieces from the service are listed in the Kiln List section, pp. 1723-1727, on the dates 25.5.89, 9.7.89, 27.8.89, 29.9.89, 26.10.89 and 24.11.89. The decoration was described as 'chiffres et fleurs' and each plate (assiette unie), of which there were 54, cost 6 livres.
