Description

with a Sienna marble base, the sides applied with the coat-of-arms of Marie-Louise of Austria, the bust signed and dated DUMONT SCULP 1810 inscribed on the reverse ELISA/GRANDE DUCHESSE DE TOSCANE/ PRINCESSE DE LUCQUES, the enamelled dial signed "Le Roy h. de SAI et Rle Madame Mère de l'Empereur", Roman numerals and calendar, two blued steel Breguet hands, one gilt brass hand for the calendar indications, the inner dial signed "Le Roy à Paris", under the removable bronze bust above it, an auxiliary dial for setting the striking mechanism for night or day, calendar indications

Very probably a gift from Elisa Baciocchi, Grand Duchess of Tuscany to Empress Marie-Louise for her marriage to Napoleon I in 1810;
