Another, ungilt bronze version of this model is housed in the Herzog Anton Ulrich-Museum, Braunschweig, where it is paired with a similar satyr bust (inv. nos. Bro 302 and 321). These casts were published by Berger and Krahn, op. cit., as 17th-century Netherlandish casts after presumed Italian, 16th century, perhaps Florentine models. When it was exhibited by Daniel Katz Gallery in 2000, the present bronze carried an attribution to the Florentine sculptor Pietro da Barga (active 1574–1588).
