Description
figures in traditional Jewish costumes performing Sabbath and festival rituals and customs along registers of scrolling foliage, birds, and flowers, embellished with gold flowers, one domed base depicts six men: blowing a shofar, holding a Torah scroll, blessing a lulav and etrog, holding a spice tower, reading a book, and one with a boy making a blessing over a wine goblet. Hebrew inscription: May we be remembered and inscribed in the Book of Life, blessings, peace and prosperity among the entire House of Israel for a good life and peace. the central register consists of four alternating boys and girls holding a book, a hallah, a noisemaker, and a hammantasch, the uppermost register depicts four women: one kindling Sabbath candles, one holding hallah, one serving wine, and one serving fish; fitted with a candle socket with pierced borders above and below incorporating gold flowers.
the other base depicts six men: at study, at prayer, kindling Hanukkah lights with a boy, performing Kapparah, giving charity, and searching for Hammetz, interspersed among the Hebrew inscription Cause peace, light and joy to dwell in our midst, for with You is the source of life, and in Your light we will see light: Amen.
