Description
JUVENALIS, DECIMUS JUNIUS AND AULUS PERSIUS FLACCUS. Iuuenalis. Persius. Venice: Aldo Manuzio & Andrea Torresano, August 1501 [but ca. 1515]
8vo (156 x 97 mm). Italic type, 30 lines plus headline. Collation: A-G8 H10 a8 b4: 78 leaves (numbered 76). Woodcut Aldine device on title-page. (Title loose and lightly stained with a marginal loss at lower edge, one or two spots.)
Binding: Early sixteenth-century brown morocco (160 x 100 mm), probably Venetian, blind tooled arabesque border with leaf at inner angles, central six-lobed cartouche, traces of two pairs of ties, later manuscript title on fore-edge. (Somewhat rubbed, loss to head of spine, upper hinge defective, cords exposed, lower hinge cracked but holding.)
