8vo (145 x 88 mm). Greek and italic type, 30 lines plus headline. collation: a-x8 (n7 and n8 blanks): 168 leaves. Woodcut Aldine device on title-page and final verso. (marginal tear to title, some spotting and staining, worming to final leaves.)


binding: Contemporary tan calf (170 x 105 mm), Flemish (?) mid-1540s, multiple blind rules framing inner rectangle also formed by multiple blind rules, gilt rampant lions at outer angles, crowned bicephalic eagle device at centers, spine with raised bands in six compartments, compartments with alternating gilt fleur-de-lis and dolphin devices. (Rebacked, rubbed with small restoration to corners, joints strengthened with vellum manuscript waste.)
