UNCUT COPY of this collected edition of six dissertations by the philologist Schwarz, professor of rhetoric and librarian at the University of Altdorf, on the making of books, including Torah scrolls and papyrus rolls, their illumination and binding, posthumously edited by Johann Christian Leuschner.

4to (232 x 180 mm). Roman and italic type, 39 lines plus headline. collation: A-2G4: 120 leaves + 5 folding plates. 5 folding illustrations, woodcut device on title-page, woodcut initials, ornaments and diagrams. (Some browning and spotting.)


binding: Contemporary paper boards (240 x 197 mm), title and ?shelfmark pasted over spine. (Binding somewhat rubbed at extremities.)
