A pair of Ottoman gilt-copper (tombak) lidded bowls (sahan), Turkey, 18th century

The incised decoration of paired floral stems is closely comparable to a taller covered bowl sold in these rooms, 1 May 2019, lot 238. A further pair of similarly decorated tombak covered bowls was sold at Christie's, London, 9 October 2014, lot 101, although the present pair appear to retain more gilding.
