the straight, double-edged steel blade with three fullers and acid-etched with floral decoration and cursive Russian inscription, the hilt and scabbard with nielloed silver mounts extensively inlaid with carved gold in a dense floral pattern, the reverse with more open composition against the dark niello ground, with signature at the locket
