This elegant Tchokwe sceptre from Angola is topped with an anthropomorphic head representing Chief Tchibunda.

Crowned with an elegant coiffure, the face is finely sculpted. The large eyes are almond-shaped, and the mouth curves into a slight smile. The arched eyebrows come together at the bridge of the nose. The sceptre is adorned with exquisite geometric patterns.
