Transferred in 1804 from the Residenz of the Kurfürstbischoff, Würzburg, to Schleissheim, then in the possession of the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen at the Königliche Gemäldegalerie, Schleissheim;
Given in exchange to Eduard Plietzsch, Berlin, 1936;

Possibly with Fritz Nathan, Zurich, 1954 (according to a mount at the RKD);
