L’un des Bourgeois de Calais: Tête de Pierre de Wissant, petit modèle
inscribed A. Rodin and with the foundry mark G. Rudier / Fondeur. Paris.
bronze
height: 10.2 cm. 4 in.
height with marble base: 17.5 cm.
Conceived circa 1885-86; this example cast by Georges Rudier in 1954. This work is from an edition of 9 unnumbered examples cast between 1953 and 1961.
This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Critique de l’Oeuvre Sculpté d’Auguste Rodin being currently prepared by Galerie Brame & Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2023-6674B.
