Pen and brown ink and wash heightened with white over red chalk, on paper washed pink;

bears old attribution in pen and brown ink: Rafaello Vanni

218 by 313 mm

Vernon Wethered (1865-1952), London,

by inheritance to the present owner

There are stylistic similarities with the work of the Perugian miniaturist, painter and exquisite draftsman Cesare Pollini (c.1555-1595).
