one of the panels reported to have a paper label to the reverse inscribed ‘...GUINNESS....’

each panel inlaid with pietre dure, lapis lazuli, alabaster, agate, africano, breccia, verde antico, both scenes within later black marble borders

37 by 61.5cm., 14½ by 24¼in. each overall

Probably acquired by the 6th Viscount Powerscourt in Italy and by descent in the Wingfield family at Powerscourt, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, Ireland;

Acquired with Powerscourt by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Slazenger;
