Professor Jaap Bolten dates this appealing farm scene to the first decade of the seventeenth century, pointing out that what appears to be the same cart-shed but seen from a different viewpoint features in both a print of 1605 by Jacob Matham, and another, by Claes Jansz. Visscher after an unknown prototype by Bloemaert, published in 1620.1
