A Dutch Silver Table-Bell, Pieter Bartholomeus Van Linden, Amsterdam, 1772
The leaf-capped baluster handle with a pomegranate finial, the bell chased with a band of floral swags above a German inscription, marked inside and on clapper.

Where acquired by the present collector.
The German inscriptions read "Wo Starkes sich und mildes paarten Da gibt es einen guten Klang" and "Die schone Zeit der jungen Liebe Denn wo das Strenge mit dem Zarden".
They translate to "Where strength and gentleness unite, there is a good sound" and "The beautiful time of young love for where the strict meets the tender".
