rectangular with cut corners, the sides engraved with bands of running foliage, the hinged cover engraved and bright-cut with sunbursts, scrolling and running foliage, and emblems, the base engraved with an inscription in Arabic surrounding the same emblems from cover, interior lacking divider, apparently unmarked

The Arabic inscription translates to: This Salapah (sirihdoos, kadam) was prepared on 2 Rabiulawal 1267 H. (January 5, 1751) with wages x 21 rupiah (Sumatra).
