Allocated to the Linz Museum Project and deposited at the Führerbau, Munich (crate #3), 24 November 1943;

Stolen by unknown individuals from the Führerbau, Munich, 29-30 April 1945;

Recovered by the Allied Forces and taken to the Munich Central Collecting Point (MCCP inv. no. 46096), 12 February 1948;

Repatriated to France on 3 June 1948 and restituted thereafter to the Estate of Adolphe Schloss, Paris, 6 July 1948;

By whom sold, Paris, Galerie Charpentier, 25 May 1949, lot 54;

Where acquired by a private collector, for 2,100,000 francs;
