A small continental gilt-metal and pietra dura chess board, possibly Austrian or Italian, 19th century
the foliate border inset with four mother-of-pearl medallions painted with town views, the hinged top enclosing a fitted interior with red velvet and a pinned barrel musical mechanism numbered '3013', 5.5 cm high, 20 cm wide, 20 cm deep
together with thirteen white hardstone game pieces and eleven brown hardstone game pieces, each circular 1.4 cm diameter
