Description

Painted with scrolling leaves a girali fogliati and centered by an oval with a saint-monk, inscribed in manganese Sy° · ACETOSO DI SR · CE (Syrup of vinegar) 

Tin-glazed earthenware (maiolica) 

15cm. high, 5⅞in.



F. Berti, (op. cit., 2010, p.157) dates a similar example in the Faenza Museum, with a Montelupo workshop mark, to 1610-1630.
