Possibly his posthumous sale, Amsterdam, 10 September 1781, lot 107, for 38 florins, to Trouquet (this and the previous lines possibly relating to the present painting and a pendant, Head of a woman);
Acquired by Dr Anton Philips (1874–1951), Eindhoven, in 1930;
