The posture of this reclining figure suggests that it may be a model for a funerary monument. The fairly rough and irregular casting indicates that it dates from the early production of Renaissance small bronzes. The tight drapery with multiple folds are comparable with other models from the late 15th century, notably a bronze of Moses, attributed to Riccio, in the Musée Jacquemart-André, Paris.
