with gilt-crowned CR VIII monogram within foliate-scrolls, gilt-line borders, wave marks in underglaze-blue, six with letter F mark in underglaze-blue for L. Foght, some with incised F marks

This service was probably produced at the time of the coronation of Christian VIII (1786-1848), King of Denmark in 1839. The initial 'F' seen on some of the plates is for a L. Foght, who worked as a gilder and painter at the factory from 1828-1840 (B. L. Grandjean, Kongelig Dansk Porcelain 1775-1884, Copenhagen 1962, p. 283.
