Conceived in 1959; this example cast in the same year by the Valsuani Foundry, Paris in an edition of 6 plus 3 artist's proofs.
The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Dr. Jürgen Pech, Bonn. The work will be included in the eighth volume of the catalogue raisonné of The Complete Works of Max Ernst in preparation.
