A true masterpiece, this unique piece embodies the singular vision of André Dubreuil, combining exceptional technical virtuosity with refined artistic inspiration. Commissioned in 2012 by Pauline Karpidas to Galerie Mougin, this Spectacular desk is a testament to the designer’s ongoing formal exploration and his command of the most demanding materials.

Through a sophisticated interplay of lines and volumes, Dubreuil succeeds in pushing the technical boundaries of steel and copper to create a work that is both airy and robust. The tension between fluid curves and taut lines generates a dynamic visual rhythm, further enhanced by the gleam of metal and the delicacy of colorful beads and enamel cabochons.

The influence of 18th century decorative arts, particularly that of André-Charles Boulle, emerges in the refined detailing of the top and apron. Drawing inspiration without resorting to imitation, Dubreuil offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the Louis XV style, shaped by an inventive approach to modern materials, all orchestrated in perfectly balanced harmony.
