Description

the upper part opening with a drop-front revealing five drawers and two shelves, resting on straight feet, adorned with fine gilded bronze ornamentation: a low-relief representing Apollo in his chariot, medallions figuring La Fontaine’s Fables (The Eagle and the Owl, The Crow and the Fox, The Wolf and the Lamb, The Fox and the Stork), thyrses, and palmettes, with a mirrored back, topped with a green Breccia marble slab (later)
