Beverly Fishman (b. 1955, Philadelphia, PA; lives in Detroit, MI) is a multidisciplinary artist who channels the aesthetics of pop art and minimalism. Combining the handmade with the industrial, her brightly colored geometric works explore perceptions and representations of technology, science, and the body. Recent solo shows have been organized by Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, East Lansing, MI; CUE Art Foundation, New York; and the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts, University of Alabama, Birmingham, among others. Fishman has received various awards and honors, including the Anonymous Was A Woman Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award.
