Sunrise was one of the last figurative landscapes to be painted by Reynolds. It is stylistically very similar to his famous and critically acclaimed 'The Four Seasons' piece. Inscribed 'for Vona' on the reverse, this painting was a gift from Reynolds to his wife, not originally intended to be sold.
