2 volumes, 4to (316 x 240 mm) and folio (570 x 450 mm). Large supplemental photogravure plates in sepia numbered 688-722 printed on Van Gelder Holland with deckle edges housed in original portfolio; a very good set of the plates with only plate 701 showing noticeable offsetting, a few others with marginal pinprick foxing. Text volume internally fine, with 76 photogravures. Minor rubbing to publisher's half morocco bindings, corners exposing on text volumes, but with text gilt bright and spines unfaded, portfolio ties defective.
