Description

Schulz, Charles

Original pen and ink illustration for the Peanuts comic strip. 7 October 1968

Four-panel comic strip (720 x 188 mm). Four pen and ink drawings within printed single ruled borders and with "Peanuts" title, United Feature Syndicate copyright notice affixed within first panel; central fold mark, upper corners very lightly creased, light spot below third panel, inscription a little faded.

Inscribed, "For Martha with every best wish - Charles M. Schulz" in brown ink above the comic strip.

A second Peanuts daily, this one from 1968, featuring Linus in lyrical hopelessness and a classic Lucy comeback.

In this strip, Linus mourns the state of the world—“It’s raining outside and the world reeks of despair”—and concludes that even his cold cereal “doth taste like wormwood.” Lucy, unimpressed, offers a deadpan retort.
