4to (235 x 170 mm). Printed in red and black, the first signature of the text, including the Edward Johnston initial, inscribed on the flyleaf by Cobden-Sanderson, “Doves Press Hamlet Specimen Sheets. C.S.”
Inscribed by Cobden-Sanderson — "specimen sheets" from The Doves Press.
Proof sheets from an exceedingly scarce title from the Doves Press, for this edition of Hamlet the text of the second Quarto edition was used with some corrections by Cobden-Sanderson, who also “tried to improve the punctuation” (Tidcombe).
