Osinachi

The artist.

Osinachi (b. 1991) is a pioneering digital artist based in Lagos, Nigeria, widely recognized as Africa’s foremost crypto-artist. Entirely self-taught, he creates his signature works using Microsoft Word—a tool he has masterfully manipulated for over 15 years.

Blending artistry with innovation, Osinachi’s practice redefines the digital medium while offering poignant commentary on cultural, sexual, and racial identity. His work serves both as a personal narrative and a broader critique of the misrepresentations often associated with the African continent and its diaspora.

His pieces are housed in the permanent collections of institutions such as the Toledo Museum of Art, Buffalo AKG Art Museum, and the Museum of Crypto Art (MoCA), as well as esteemed private collectors including WhaleShark and Artnome. Most recently, he participated in MoMA’s “Postcard” project, joining a select group of 15 global artists.

An instigator of AfrofutureDAO, he is dedicated to empowering African museums through Web3 technologies. His recent digital artist-in-residence role at the Toledo Museum of Art underscores his continued efforts to bridge the worlds of traditional and digital art.
