Another rare Kashmir alabaster figure, depicting Karttikeya mounted on a peacock is preserved in the British Museum, London (accession no. 1925.6-19.40), attributed to the 8th century. It is recorded as having been found at Yotkan, Central Asia, and was donated to the museum by Sir Clarmont Skrine (1888-1974), the British consul-general in Kashgar from 1922-24.
