Compare a closely related ox uncovered from the Eastern Wei tomb of a princess uncovered in Cixian, Hebei, illustrated in Wenwu, 1984:4, pl. V:1 and reproduced alongside other related oxen in In the Company of Spirits, Kaikodo Journal, Spring 1999, p. 182.


The dating of this lot is consistent with the result of a thermoluminescence test, Oxford Authentication Ltd., sample no. C298k8.
