Compare a similar meiping from the collection of Raymong A. Bidwell, exhibited at The Springfield Museum, Massachusetts in 1965, illustrated in Warren E. Cox, The Book of Pottery and Porcelain, vol. I, New York, 1949, fig. 381, and later sold at Christie's New York, 21st March 2013, lot 1179; another example of similar size with a bird on a branch design was exhibited in Well-known Chinese Ceramics, The Best Pieces from 2000 Years of Chinese Ceramics, Kurita Museum, 1992, cat. no. 34; and a further example painted with leaves was included in Song Ceramics, Utensils of Sublime Beauty, Idemitsu Museum of Arts, Tokyo, 2018, cat. no. 18.
