4to (186 x 131 mm), title-page within border of printer's ornaments, decorative and historiated initials, woodcut printer's device in colophon, nineteenth-century maroon morocco by Clyde S. Newman for Frederick Perkins of Chipstead Place, Kent, with his gilt arms stamped to covers, some spotting and marginal dampstaining, small wormhole to lower margin of 2 leaves, a couple of minor paper repairs


An attractive, wide-margined copy of this important Elizabethan work of educational theory.
