London: Collins, 1962. 8vo, FIRST EDITION, FIRST IMPRESSION, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR ("Invaluable assistance my Aunt, | I actually wrote the | bloody thing, | With all best wishes, | from John Pearson | March 2016"), original grey cloth, spine lettered in red, original dust-jacket by Kenneth Farnhill, extremities slightly bumped, dust-jacket lightly frayed at extremities and chipped at head, very lightly browned, inside lightly browned with two small tape repairs [Gilbert B2a (1)]


With a foreword by Ian Fleming.


(2) Donald Fish [John Pearson]. Airline Detective. Glasgow: Fontana Books, 1962. 8vo, FIRST PAPERBACK EDITION, inscribed by Pearson as Fish ("Best wishes from | Donald Fish.") on title page, publisher's illustrated softcovers, slight wear to covers [Gilbert B2a (3)]


(3) John Pearson. The Life of Ian Fleming. London: Jonathan Cape, 1966. 8vo, UNCORRECTED PROOF, publisher's light green patterned soft card covers, original proof dust-jacket by Jan Pienkowski, spine creased on covers, dust-jacket creased, slightly frayed and chipped at spine ends


The uncorrected proof is notably different from the published version; changes have been made to the Thunderball Backfires chapter, in which the author originally makes some potentially damaging remarks. [Gilbert, "Biographies and Profiles of Ian Fleming", p. 592]
