A fine binding for Ferdinando Madruzzo (1564-1618), the third son of the bibliophile Gian Federico Madruzzo (1531?-1586) and Isabelle de Challant-Aymavilles (1531-1596).

8vo (170 x 106mm). Roman and italic types, 43 lines plus headline. Collation: a-z⁸ Aa-Mm⁸: 280 leaves. Woodcut device on title. (Title with ink blots causing a hole with loss.)

Binding: Contemporary brown morocco, probably French, double gilt fillets flanked by blind fillets around sides, small gilt quatrefoil at outer angles, in centre gilt arms of Ferdinando Madruzzo heightened by red paint, spine with 3 full bands, gilt quatrefoils in compartments, edges gilt and gauffered around edges with the name of the author, the title, and a shelf mark in ink
