Engraved frontispiece, numerous illustrations. (Textblock frayed at outer margin, some browning and spotting throughout, folding plates creased at folds.)

binding: Contemporary calf over thin wooden board (178 x 111 mm), spine with 5 bands flanked by double gilt fillets, brown title label, edges stained red. (Joints cracking, binding worn at edges and corners, some slight delamination of leather.)

provenance: Inscription to upper pastedown—"Verein der Buchdrucker u. Schriftgiesser Ungarns. Bezirk Hermannstadt" purple stamp to first leaf of text. acquisition: Purchased in 1968 in Romania.
