FIRST EDITIONS OF TWO MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE HISTORY OF BIBLIOGRAPHY. Lomeier's work addresses the history of libraries and their organisation from biblical times to the period of publication. The second work in this volume comprises the first two parts of Cinelli Calvoli's seminal Italian literary and bibliographical periodical. In the first part of Cinelli Calvoli's work, the dedicatory letter of a controversial theologian has been cancelled. (This letter, supplied in photocopied facsimile, is addressed to Enrico Noris, whose Historia Pelagiana was a banned book in France and condemned by the Inquisition in Spain).
