Height 85 cm, 33½ in.

Acquired by the father of the present owners in Paris, rue Bonaparte, in the early 2000s.

Compare a similar seated figure of Buddha, larger in size, dated to the 14th century, preserved in the Brooklyn Museum, New York (acc. no. 82.228).
