comprising a knife and three-pronged fork, the knife and fork with silver-gilt hilts finely carved with a repeating floral motif, the wooden scabbard entirely covered in silver-gilt decorated on the front and back with a floral and ribbon pattern, the chape of moulded silver-gilt, suspension loop to back.

Robert Elgood illustrates a trousse with a knife and a fork of two tines, inscribed in Greek on the silver niello scabbard ‘Hajji Gatanis Djanetis 1713’ (Robert Elgood, The Arms of Greece and Her Balkan Neighbours in the Ottoman Period, London, Thames and Hudson, 2009, p.49, no.32). Another trousse with a knife and fork (with three tines), dating from the eighteenth century, is in the Wallace Collection (inv. no.OA 1973).
