The present dagger is an exceptional silver-gilt example of a dagger type more typically executed in plain tombak. A dagger of this type set with plain tombak ‘capital-I’ shaped hilt and scabbard decorated en suite is now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (inv. no.Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer, C 88). Another was sold in these rooms, 31 March 2021, lot 103.
