99.5cm. high, 131cm. wide, 40cm. deep
Bookcase. Very decorative. Marble generally good. The piece would benefit from re-painting. There are chips to the later paint revealing a gilt-surface, which suggests it could have been gilt all over. Chips to the applied gilt-gesso decoration. Despite 'Country House' condition this piece is pleasing. The books sold as is and purely as decoration - refer to cataloguing as most runs incomplete. Typical rubbing, wear to gilding and losses to leather. Pages foxed and stained in many cases.
